I too read the FAR's on what is legal and what isn't. I went with the dr
op shadow design for my 801 and I am very happy with the look. On the fl
ip side I have seen some bizzare color schemes and fonts and some set up
s with contrasting colors that actually hid the N numbers. Some how it p
assed the DAR or Faa's initial inspection so my take is they don't reall
y nit pick on that... One other thing.... I did shop the price on gettin
g them made, some aircraft vendors were in the 200+ dollar range. I took
my idea to the local decal/ sign shop. they made them for 75 bucks and
they looked so good I gave them a 25 dollar tip. YMMV

I'm thinking about ordering vinyl N-Numbers from here http://www.custom-
vinyl-lettering.net/ and would like to have a little fancier font for th
e lettering. I've read through the Far's 45.2x and don't see anything pr
ohibiting using other fonts.
Does anyone have any experience is using different fonts for N-Numbers a
nd would the attached style be a problem during inspection?
