As liners pilots, we:
- Turn the rotating beacon on before starting engines, off after engine
shutdown,
- Turn the taxi lights on when the aircraft is about to move, off when the
aircraft is stopped,
- Turn both strobe lights and take-off lights on when entering the active
runway, off when leaving the runway.
This is worldwide common practice, night and day conditions.
Regards,
Gilles
