Price and specs are right. From: "Bubblehead" I have an RV-8 with an IO-360 180 hp engine and need to replace the current battery. I think it is a RG-25XC. In past topics I've seen the Odessey PC-680 mentioned along with the Powersonic (?) PS-12180, Panasonic LC-X1220P and a LC-RD1217P. Is there a current favorite that can be found for a reasonable price? If so, please post name, model, and a good source. Yup get the Odessey..its 18Ah I think and unless you intend to do starts in sub zero temps it will work great. Mine is two years old..I keep it on a battery maintainer/charger and it works great..I might run it for another year before changing. Ramirez" Subject: RE: AeroElectric-List: What is the best value battery right now? I also vote for the Odyssey. I have a PC-925L, which has the terminals on the upper side instead of on top. For the top, get the PC-925. Although the PC-680 will easily crank the O-320 over in my Long EZ, I chose the PC-925L because its extra weight replaces lead ballast and I get more battery time if my alternator goes out. It is a 28 Ah battery. If you want good examples and selections of Odyssey batteries for experimental aircraft applications, West Coast Batteries has a good offering at the following link: http://www.odysseybatteries.com/batteries.htm If you are interested in automotive applications, go directly to the Odyssey Battery website, which has a tool for finding the right battery for your vehicle. Go to the following link and click on Batteries, then at the top right, click on GO after the banner "Find the Right Odyssey Battery For Your Vehicle." One of the tabs is a Dealer Locator, but I've never used it, because I used West Coast Batteries to buy both my PC-925L and my vehicle batteries. http://www.odysseybattery.com/ Note: I am not affiliated with Odyssey batteries in any way other than being a customer and liking their batteries. The reason I like them is because they are longer life batteries than the other batteries I've used and they have performed very well so far. They are more expensive than the Panasonics, but they promise longer life, which makes up the cost. I value reliability, longer life and performance a lot. Please use them or any battery at your own risk.
