They are intumescent caulks, and come in a cartridge suitable for use in a standard home use caulking gun. They are typically displayed in the same area as all the other window and siding caulks, being marketed as 'fire block', 'fire stop', or some such. When packaged as home repair materials they are a fraction of the cost of when the same material is packaged for aviation use. The one I tested was no better than red rtv gasket compound. While either will satisfy our local inspectors, the silicone products are not near as good as the itumescent 3M product. Less than 600*F vs. 2000*F. Aluminum melts around 1100*F as I recall. Occasionally you do get what you pay for.
