The SIGNAL wires are switch between normal and fail-safe configurations, not the ground wires. It's the ground wires of the headset that are probably sharing current pathways with ground wires of the strobes that generate "the loop". Since the interference is detected with the intercom OFF suggests that the problem does not lie upstream of the intercom but downstream. Do all your panel mounted electro-whizzies enjoy a common ground?
