It's the core board for about a dozen different products with the notion of having 90% common bill of materials and differing only by what software is installed. This is an RV-12. The RPM sensor is part of the Rotax 912 engine. The tach trigger coil sends a small AC voltage signal to the tach once every revolution of the crankshaft, according to page 8 of this document: http://flymall.org/aircraft/docs/FAQs-on-Rotax.pdf I do not have a portable scope. But my Fluke meter shows an AC voltage. Does your "do everything" board come with ASM code for the various functions or do we have to write our own? From: "jvolkober" It turns out that the rectifier diode was defective. I probable shorted it out or something as I was installing and testing wiring over the past several months. At one point it worked and I thought that I checked it yesterday. I ran down to my local electronics parts store and pick up a replacement and everything checks out now.
