wire going to X3.3 It might take you a minute or two to recognize the over-voltage
condition and shut off the switch. But most modern avionics are rated
up to 30 volts. And the battery will resist the increased voltage for a while.
Hundreds of RV-12s are flying without over-voltage protection. I am not necessarily
recommending not installing over-voltage protection, but it is an option.
Joe,
Thank you for having taken the time to examine and comment the schematic.
You are right, most avionics can withstand up to 30 V, but unfortunately
not all of the appliances in the project, and my partners are asking for
some protection.
Initially I thought that the built-in Rotax OV protection would be
enough, but as some owners had over-voltage events, obviously the
voltage regulators can fail (there has already been a regulator update
by Rotax), and the OV protection did not catch or contain the event.
So I'm wondering...
Thank you for your help,

Best regards,
Gilles

Is your alternator internally or externally
regulated?

Bob
It is internally regulated 60A Plane Power, which has built-in crowbar OV pr
otection.

Okay, it is my understanding that P-P brings field supply
lead out for ABSOLUTE alternator control. Hence, leaving
the alternator side of your split rocker OFF should relieve
the battery of an unnecessary load during ground ops . . .
and leave your alternator cool.

Works good . . . lasts a long time.

In the months leading up to xmas, someone was
spoofing my e-mail address sending spam to what

believed me to be the true source of the traffic,
they never showed it to me . . . didn't get a

The very.VERY.BEST thing in addition to the delete key is to exercise the
"report as spam" key and the blueberry gets squashed locally in your
computer.and then the wonders of Norton or your favorite anti-spam software
will report Mr. Blueberry to the collective and then other local computers
will automatically step on the blueberry. Then of course the process
repeats.
..
Cheers!!!

I have had my email account hacked twice some years ago. Since then, I don't know
if happened again or not. Not being computer savvy or techno competent, I pondered
what to do to protect my email and address book from a nefarious hacker.
Password changes were not a satisfactory solution. I was hacked 2 days after
a change. I considered leaving my address book blank and typing the address
for every email I sent. That quickly became a royal PIA.. So what could a nontechy
do? I have added an extra integer-letter or number- to every address in
my address book. Should I be hacked again and I'm confident I must have been,
the hacker will only get a list of addresses that are useless. I know this because
I occasionally forget to remove the extra integer or integers when I send
a message and it bounces back with "this address does not exist". It has been
many years since I last was embarrassed by seeing my email used by a hacker.
It is a small inconvenience to remove the added integers before sending a message,
but it's a low tech solution that has worked for me. Now I hope I have not
jinxed myself by making it public. jrh
