Installation was easy other than having to get under the instrument panel. I installed the external echoUAT transponder antenna at the firewall and on the opposite side of the fuselage from my existing transponder antenna. Doesn=99t quite meet the 36 inch separation requirement, but seems to work okay. My existing GPS antenna is mounted on a firewall bracket under the cowl and there was room to put the SkyFYX antenna on the bracket. Punched a hole in the firewall to run RG-400 cable. B&C connectors come with the assembly. Mounting the echoUAT was a bit problematic until I found a location for it, but installation was a snap. echoUAT box is smaller than a pack of cigarettes. Power and ground wires are easy. Mating with the existing transponder was easy and instructions are included for several brands of acceptable transponders. Mine was an SL-70. I ordered the system from the factory rep who was a great support help in programming the echoUAT. You use an IPad, iPhone or other tablets/phones to program the system. The uAvionix rep was Shane Woodson at (214) 909-1515. I=99ll be glad to answer any other questions you can come up with. From: "Richard E. Tasker" I think the main problem with donations is that almost no one is using the other groups (at least among the other Matronics groups I subscribe to). The AeroElectric list is really the only group that is active. Dick Tasker Robert L. From: Charlie England There are other groups that are quite active; I subscribe to the Kolb list, and there are possibly more active members there than here. But even if AEC was the only one, we need to support Matt. I can testify that the RV guys' virtual abandonment of the Matronics lists for that other forum was to everyone's detriment, except perhaps the guy that runs that forum for profit. I confess that I took the ride for free on these lists for years. I now regret that and for the past few years, I've tried to support Matt during each fundraising period. Trying to use 'free' lists like Yahoo Groups, etc will quickly demonstrate what an asset we have in Matt's list structure. Charlie On 2/7/2018 11:00 AM, Richard E. From: Tim Olson My thought has always been, these lists are a great service. The RV10-List is quite active. I prefer to get my info via email and not a forum. It guarantees I see it more timely. And, I figure you either use ad revenue, or donations, but not both. So, since there are no ads here, I contribute each year. Matt's been really good at supporting the forums, even though health issues in the past, and that makes me even more motivated to donate. I love to give to people who give likewise. From: Bill Watson Ditto. Aeroelectric and RV10 alone are worthy of $$ support. However, I missed the notice this year. Can anyone give me the vitals so I can donate? Thanks in advance.
