    Not directly to your question, but to save yourself the hassle of hooking up a charger, you might consider adding a solar panel to your plane.=C2- For less than $20, you can get a 6"x12" panel that will deliver 100mA or so .=C2- If you're only starting a couple times a week, you'd probably never need to hunt down a charger.     I would contact Bose, and ask if they can convert it to standard jacks (or LEMO if that's what you want). While they do that, they will probably also refurbish the entire headset at no cost to you.     On closer examination, I dont have to add any fat wires if I do move the battery contactor along with the battery. The heavy cable that currently (no pun intended) provides power forward to the engine compartment (and starter) will now be the heavy cable that feeds power from the external power connector. So its less work. There are just two wires I need to add through the firewall: 1. The battery contactor coil current, which goes from the contactor coil low side in series through the external power control relay (at the old battery location), a diode and then forward to the battery master switch. 2.     They will sell the audio cable, but it is in the neighborhood of $200, because the mike is part of the assembly. Check Sporty's for adapters.     Kelly, I found what you meant, that is a complete replacement for the cabling which you unplug, the one with BT is even 300$ and it would make the deal expensive again.     Sometimes just the downcord pops up on ebay. Maybe you can set up a search alert. This is why we see so much variation in the price of used headsets based on their plugs. I don't know the A20 line, but note that in some of the X models the microphone was not interchangeable between helicooter versions and the others, so there's a chance that even if you found just the plugs it still wouldn't work. The days of Bose doing free refurbs seems to be long over. I've sent in several x models over the years, and the prices have climbed from $179 to $225, and the most recent one was to be $300. I was reluctant to do it at all, but the pile of parts wasn't worth anything otherwise. After all the trouble of packing it up and getting it to UPS, they sent it back without fixing it or charging me, saying that it was too old. The person on the phone took down the serial number before I ever sent it in, and at that stage it was not too old. All good things must end some time I suppose, but it is important to update the status of the Bose support situation.     I like that idea. Of course, the sun never shines in my hangar, but it usually does when I=99m flying! I wrote an e-mail to B&C, but they only said that in general, they recommend Earth X batteries. What I really need to know is what size (capacity) battery I need, i.e., how many cca=99s, etc. that I need t o accomplish my intended goals. I guess I need to do a little research.     They would only output about 14V Max. They don't have enough power to damag e anything as I understood it, but that was with a lead acid battery. If yo u talking to the battery guys, ask them and let us know what they have to s ay about it.     Might not be needed with a small panel but Ebay has solar charging modules specifically for charging 12 volt batteries. Bought one last year for 3 or 4 dollars.
