I've not had the pleasure of adding the KX155 service manual to the archives on AeroElectric.com but there is a manual for the KX165 . . . have no idea how much similarity might exist between these two radios but you a welcome to dowload http://www.aeroelectric.com/Installation_Data/Bendix-King/KX165A_SM.pdf and compare with what you have in hand. Opening it up I found a blown 10A fuse but replacing it did nogood.=C2- T he unit tries to draw enough current to blow a replacementfuse (but I'm lim iting the input current to prevent that). The four large electrolytic capacitors look good (not physically puffedout) and there's no sign of a smoked component. IMO it's not worth putting more than $100 into it so taking it to anavionic s shop is not an attractive option.=C2- But perhaps I can repairit myself assuming it doesn't need a part made of Unobtanium (like thedisplay). I have a connector wiring diagram but no schematic or servicemanual. So my question is where do I go from here?=C2- Has anyone on this forumpo ked around in a KX-155 and can offer somesuggestions? =C2-I've not had the pleasure of adding the KX155 service =C2-manual to the archives on AeroElectric.com but there =C2-is a manual for the KX165 . . . have no idea how =C2-much similarity might exist between these two =C2-radios but you a welcome to dowload http://www.aeroelectric.com/Installation_Data/Bendix-King/KX165A_SM.pdf =C2-and compare with what you have in hand. =C2- Bob . . . Thank you, Bob.=C2- I did download the KX165 maintenance manual and alas, the innards of the radio are quite different, especially in the physical l ayout and power supply area. I've come to learn there are differences in the various KX-155s out there t oo: KX155, KX155 TSO, KX155A, and differences by serial number. As an aside, the KX165 is newer than my KX155 but even so, it references DO S for software updates and a 68HC16 microcontroller.=C2- Takes me back! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other Matronics Email List Services ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Post A New Message aeroelectric-list@matronics.com UN/SUBSCRIBE http://www.matronics.com/subscription List FAQ http://www.matronics.com/FAQ/AeroElectric-List.htm Web Forum Interface To Lists http://forums.matronics.com Matronics List Wiki http://wiki.matronics.com Full Archive Search Engine http://www.matronics.com/search 7-Day List Browse http://www.matronics.com/browse/aeroelectric-list Browse Digests http://www.matronics.com/digest/aeroelectric-list Browse Other Lists http://www.matronics.com/browse Live Online Chat! http://www.matronics.com/chat Archive Downloading http://www.matronics.com/archives Photo Share http://www.matronics.com/photoshare Other Email Lists http://www.matronics.com/emaillists Contributions http://www.matronics.com/contribution ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These Email List Services are sponsored solely by Matronics and through the generous Contributions of its members.
