=C2-=C2- on the order of 2-4 volts. In aircraft microphones,
=C2-=C2- getting this bias is no big deal . . . aircraft
=C2-=C2- audio systems EXPECT a carbon microphone analog,
=C2-=C2- their design includes a bias network to supply
=C2-=C2- voltage to the microphone.
=C2-=C2- So your experiment to exercise the microphone
=C2-=C2- while observing output on a 'scope would
=C2-=C2- not yield useful information unless you
=C2-=C2- implement the necessary external bias
=C2-=C2- supply.
