I need to buy the Molex connector for my Insight GEM 602. It is a 15/30 pin edge connector with a 0.100" pitch between contacts. It also has a notch in the card to prevent the connector being installed backwards. Any idea what the part number I need is and where I could buy it? There is no info regarding this in the documentation I received with the unit. It also appears that this series [4338 ??] of connector has been deemed obsolete by Molex. Charlie Kuss PS I tried to attach a photo of the rear of the unit, but this forum does not allow jpg attachments.

Check out the Molex data page on my website: https://tinyurl.com/7t6jjsc Data there includes descriptions and photos of the 4338 series connectors and pins. Yeah, been out of production for a long time. Over the years I've had some luck finding connectors at surplus electronics shops but those opportunities are growing really skinny too. I do have a few pieces of work-around left over from the last few times I had your problem. You'll see some pictures on the website where a builder cut two larger connectors and spliced them together with JB Weld to achieve the proper pin-count. Sorry, not gold plated. Not crimped either . . . ran out of those pins about 15 years ago. However, I've used this technique at least twice to get one of these vintage radios up and running. You're welcome to a 1-1/2 12-pin connectors (pictured) to take a whack at this fix. Keeping half of a connector on hand will allow me to offer this fix at least one more time. Bob . . . I went toe-to-toe with major players in the lithium market a couple decades ago. When the battery is your sole energy source for comfortable termination of flight there is no SLVA equivalent. Capacity is capacity is capacity . . . That capacity should be defined by design goals and periodically TESTED to insure that such goals are maintained. Bob . . . Bob, Thanks for the ideas and the web link. Friday morning I was searching and came across these. Correct number of terminals, but no indication as to pit ch. I need 0.100" [aka 2.54mm] Any comments regarding what I've found? https://twistywristarcade.com/edge-connectors/772-15-30-pin-edge-connector- sec.html https://www.mikesarcade.com/cgi-bin/store.pl?sku=CECM30 I found a few more, but they were all .156" pitch. Bob, Thank you for your kind offer. However, I don't think it will work. The co nnectors you show have a 3.96mm [.156"] pitch. My GEM 602 needs 2.54mm [.10 0"] pitch connector.
