Can anyone suggest an other product which would work? That is exactly what I was looking for. At that pri ce, I can buy two, keep one for a spare and still save money!=C2- Joe,That is exactly the unit that I'm trying to source from a manufacturer. Why pay $90+ [with shipping] for an item that really costs less than $50. Also, what happens if GRT goes out of business, or their supply runs short? They don't manufacture their sensors. They buy them, mark them up and rese ll them. I'm cheap and I like to have options.=C2- Charlie On Sunday, March 26, 2023 at 11:19:40 AM EDT, David Carter wrote: Much less expensive source for what I believe is the same sensor.=C2- I have this one in my plane. =C2- https://amploc.com/products/key100-open-loop-hall-effect-sensor On Sun, Mar 26, 2023 at 10:32 AM user9253 wrote: GRT current sensor https://grtavionics.com/media/AMP_HE_RevD.pdf https://grtavionics.com/product-category/eis-probes/current-sensors/ -------- Joe Gores Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=510505#510505 - Electric-List" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">http://www.matronics.co m/Navigator?AeroElectric-List FORUMS - eferrer" target="_blank">http://forums.matronics.com WIKI - errer" target="_blank">http://wiki.matronics.com b Site - =C2- =C2- =C2- =C2- =C2- -Matt Dralle, List Admin. ="noreferrer" target="_blank">https://matronics.com/contribution -- --- David Carter david@carter.net ________________________________ Message 5 _____________________________________ Time: 11:22:45 AM PST US Subject: AeroElectric-List: Re: 100 Amp Inductive Current Sensor 5 volt input Ring Mount ne From: "user9253" I purchased a ACS712 Hall effect sensor from eBay for $2 to play with on the work bench. I did not install it in an airplane. The manufacturer intended that the current carrying wire be cut and connected to the green terminal strip. If installed in an aircraft, it is not desired to cut a heavy wire which would introduce two more failure points. So I just laid the uncut wire across the IC and tested it like that. It worked fine. If one were to actually install this sensor in an aircraft, the wire being monitored could be glued to the IC using E6000. Three wires need to be connected, +5VDC, ground, and output. Your ammeter display should have the ability to be calibrated. -------- Joe Gores Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=510509#510509 Attachments: http://forums.matronics.com//files/acs712_hall_effect_244.jpg ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other Matronics Email List Services ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Post A New Message aeroelectric-list@matronics.com UN/SUBSCRIBE http://www.matronics.com/subscription List FAQ http://www.matronics.com/FAQ/AeroElectric-List.htm Web Forum Interface To Lists http://forums.matronics.com Matronics List Wiki http://wiki.matronics.com Full Archive Search Engine http://www.matronics.com/search 7-Day List Browse http://www.matronics.com/browse/aeroelectric-list Browse Digests http://www.matronics.com/digest/aeroelectric-list Browse Other Lists http://www.matronics.com/browse Live Online Chat! http://www.matronics.com/chat Archive Downloading http://www.matronics.com/archives Photo Share http://www.matronics.com/photoshare Other Email Lists http://www.matronics.com/emaillists Contributions http://www.matronics.com/contribution ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These Email List Services are sponsored solely by Matronics and through the generous Contributions of its members.
