    Subject: Z1 Question
I would suggest none while you are flying. If you need to turn off the electrics you would use the master switch. During maintenance to depower the alternator field. Peter From: owner-aeroelectric-list-server@matronics.com <owner-aeroelectric-list-server@matronics.com> On Behalf Of mike@vision499.com Sent: Thursday, May 11, 2023 3:48 PM Subject: AeroElectric-List: Z1 Question I have mostly used Z1 with the B&C Alternator controller. I have the "BUS" wire connected to terminal 6 protected with a 5 amp breaker on the panel as illustrated. I am now preparing the POH and would like to know under what scenarios I would want to "PULL" the breaker. Thanks Mike Mike Pienaar m <mailto:ike@vision499.com> ike@vision499.com Mike cell: +1 250-885-0554 1-1100 Tulip Ave, Victoria, BC, V8Z 0A2

Thank you very much, why would I want to depower the alternator field? It will run down your battery and make the alternator very warm during extended master-on/engine-off situations.
