I sold the plane and am not driving my car as often. The Tender Junior max charge is 750 Ma. When I put it on my car that was just driven it got too hot to touch in about 30 minutes. Is it too small for the higher capacity auto battery? I like the specs on the Yonhan unit you showed in your last entry. I plan to install a plug accessible without raising the hood and putting longer wires with a plug on the unit. Do you think this is workable?? Thanks for all the help you have given over the years. ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 10:22:01 AM PST US From: "Robert L. With the charger plugged in and the battery fully charged, the device reverts to what may be their 'pulsed repair mode'. When attached to an 18 a.h. SVLA battery, the charger/maintainer settles pretty quickly into a pulsing activity that oscillates between 100 and 150 mA. I've left it connected to see what happens over the next few hours. When unplugged, the C/M draws a small but not insignificant 0.025 amps and the front panel display says lit up. We'll see where the 'pulse mode' goes over the next day or so. I've attached a printout off a charge profile for the subject C/M and a fully charged, 18 a.h. SLVA battery. It appears to perform as expected with a maintaining voltage on the order of 13.1 volts. I'll report on further findings as they prsent.
