 The attachment was very useful. I knew someone would remember.
   I wonder why Bob discontinued them? With the price of new alternators one would
think the NOS Japanese made alternators would be a popular substitution.

The older regulators in IR=C2- alternators often didn't have 'load dump' 
protection=2E People were 'testing' their OV modules with the alternator un
der load, and the resulting voltage spike when the relay opened would kill 
the internal regulator=2E So instead of invoking the HeHaw Doctor=C2- pri
nciple (if it hurts when you do that,=C2- don't do that), the recommendat
ion became,=C2- don't use IR alternators=2E
