My Austin Healey (like many old cars) had a very sensitive gauge that
fluctuated wildly
One fix for that is to install a super capacitor on the gauge end of the
circuit. Adding a relay keeps the energy in when the circuit is off and
makes for reliable reading immediately upon activation (otherwise the super
capacitor needs to charge up to provide an accurate reading, and also
slowly discharges after shutdown).
In your case you might need 3 each, but the whole setup was trivially
inexpensive. I would avoid putting the super capacitor where fuel vapor
could be present.
