Subject: | Re: One Side of Headset Dead, Why? |
Further troubleshooting is leading me to believe in a coincidental failure of the
radio. I disconnected the Aera from the radio harness and still no joy on
the right side speaker for both pilot and co-pilot. I then did a unit ground
check per the installation manual. The headset check was showing no shorts, produced
a tone on both pilot and co-pilot left side, but no tone on either right
side. I also re-checked the connector at the back of the radio itself and
all connections appear proper and secure. I recall having occasional headset
reception issues in the past, but haven't been able to fly since last May (long
annual in progress). Are there any other checks before pulling and repairing/replacing
the radio? John
