| Subject: | Trustworthy handheld digital oscilloscope? |
I recklessly and naively recommended someone get one of the cheap
handheld digital o'scopes to help troubleshoot alternator issues.
He got an FNIRSI 2C53P (not cheap but includes a multimeter and signal
generator and is 2-channel).
When he reported trouble with displaying a good signal (we're talking
12V DC plus 20 to 3,000Hz signals here) I started watching youtube
reviews and found there are settings where scope displays garbage. I
started looking at other similar scope reviews and found that it seems
to be a common issue that you can't trust what you see on them.
So here is the question: have any of you bought a low-cost (< $100)
handheld digital o'scope that's trustworthy?
