Interesting about the spam... All the messages from this list are going
to spam recently. I had chalked it up to my using a new email software,
but may it's not me this time...
FWIW, other lists don't seem to be having the issue, even other aviation
lists hosted on matronics...

Almost all of the modern [last 30 years] alternators are in the 70 - 130 a
mp range. That higher output requires more wire windings on the rotor and s
tator, which means more weight. So you will save weight by keeping the rate
d output to 60 amps, preferably lower. Listed below are older ND alternator
s of 45 - 60 amps, some with internal voltage regulators, some set up for a
n external voltage regulator.
Alternator 60 amp Denso Internally Regulated
Lester Interchange # A344-263
Used on 1988 - 1991 Honda Civics & CRXs 1.5 liter engine
NOTE: Comes with pulley for serpentine belt.
Replace pulley with V Belt style
45 amp Denso Externally Regulated, external fan
Lester Interchange # A344-133
Used on 1980 - 1983 Honda Civic 1.3 & 1.5 Liter engine
Comes with 2.5" diameter V Belt Pulley
55 amp Denso Internally Regulated
Lester Interchange # A344-278
Comes with 2.5" diameter V Belt Pulley
Used on 1987 - 1988 Chevy Sprint, Pontiac Forsa
& Firefly, all 3 with 1 Liter 3 cylinder engine
1985 - 1986 Suzuki Samari 1.3 Liter engine

Charlie:=C2- I agree- plan to remove the Plane Power when the engine arri
ves!
I got the name wrong in my initial post: I purchased the B&C=C2- LX60, be
cause of the bad reviews of Plane-Power alternators on VAF.
I have the B&C on the shelf, waiting on engine delivery (=C3=A2=82=AC=C5
=93Dec 2025=C3=A2=82=AC=EF=BD is the latest promise) so I can remove
the PP and install the B&C unit.
I read quite a lot about the Denso =C3=A2=82=AC=C5=93for my 86 Suzuki Sa
murai=C3=A2=82=AC=EF=BD [Wink] and auto parts availability is appeali
ng.=C2-
Sorry for my mix-up.

Charlie: thanks for the leads on a Denso: prices and serviceability sound great.
I still plan to install the B&C I have: their products have a strong reputation
(even on Vans Air Force!), and, from personal experience, their tech support
is very good as well.
All that said does my initial bus plan make sense?
