Subject: | Swelling gas cap |
I've noticed that the gas cap on my allegro 2000 is getting very difficult to remove
and replace. I Believe the the plastic cap has swelled or expanded to the
point that it can't be removed with out the use of pliers.
I thought that it might be the O ring that was causing the problem, so I removed
the O ring and tried putting the gas cap on. No luck. It was still just as
tight.
If anyone has had this problem and knows a fix, please let me know.
Thanks,
Larry

Subject: | Re: Swelling gas cap |
I also had a problem with the gas cap about 2 years after I bought the plane. It
leaked and was difficult to remove. I replaced it with the non-lockable version
from the factory. It's been ok for 6 years.
I have always used 95 octane for the 100hp engine.
Does anyone use ethanol and has it caused any problems to the lining of the fuel
tank of any other fuel parts?
