Subject: | Rudder Stiffness |
Greeting, I have a significant issue with rudder stiffness primarily caused by
a stiff nose wheel mechanism. One of the Matronics post was from a Paul (email
no longer active) and the text was as follows in 2009 : "When our Allegro 2000
was delivered the rudders were stiff.
We found the problem to be the sleeve (the piece with the lubricating nipple in
enclosed photo) jamming against the collar above. We machined it down a few thou
and the rudders are smooth and light.
Paul"
I would love to get more detail on how Paul was able to resolve this issue. If
anyone has more detail on how to resolve or has contact information for Paul,
I would greatly appreciate a response.
Thanks for you help,
Dee

Dee One,
I corresponded with "Paul" numerous times on Allegro issues
(Allegro-List@matronics.com) some years ago, but never new his last name. I
did find out that he was located in Thailand and I believe he was a dealer
for Allegros when they were made in the Czech Republic. Doug Hempstead at
LSA America may know who he is and how to reach him.
