I want to remove the wheel without unscrewing the hydraulic brake line from the caliper and loosing the brake fluid. Can I remove the disc brake caliper from the disc leaving it attached to the hydraulic brake line and then remove the wheel? If so how do I do it? Hugh G. There is no need to do anything about the brakes a t this time. I believe the bolts are number five metric Brian Sent from my Brian's iPhone > On Aug 21, 2016, at 13:00, Hugh McKay wrote: > > I have a flat tire on one of the main gear wheels on my Allegro 2000. All you have to do is remove the three bo lts that attach the brake disk to the wheel. Then remove the cotton pin fro m the axle shaft, remove the wheel retaining nut and the wheel should pull r ight off the axle shaft. The caliper and brake disk stay in place. Good luck! I leave the brake components in-place. The toughest part can be breaking the tire bead free from the rim. (Better to stand on it, rather than be tempted to pry it apart with sharp-edged objects).
