The ball bearings were running rough. The rim is a split rim so I removed the six bolts and the tire itself. I am working with the half of the rim containing the two bearings. I tried to press out the bearings but they would not budge. That may have been a mistake. Now I am not sure how to removed the bearings. Attached is my cross section sketch of what I think is the bearing housing. There may be a bearing seat behind each bearing that fixes the position of each bearing. If so, you can=99t visually see it. I also don=99t know why there is a loose sleeve for the axel between the two bearings? Has anyone ever had to remove or replace the front wheel bearings on an Allegro 2000? If so, how is it done? Also, is the wheel itself cast aluminum or steel? Hugh G. McKay III, P.E. Fellow, L.M.
