Hello,  I joined this list a couple weeks ago to see if there was  
anything
interesting being discussed.  -Not even a friendly argument.
I got my A&P at Northrop in 1970 but have never used the ticket for
gainful employment. (maybe a $ or two on the side).
It has been big help, even with other jobs through the years and for
maintaining planes that I have owned.
I recently finished the test phase of a Kolb MkIII and will turn 65
in Jan 06.  Looking forward to a few more years of aviating.
