Friends of Meigs call for letters to editors, legislators:
We have been deluged with letters already--many eloquent and heartfelt, others
outraged and disgusted--all in opposition to the storm-trooper tactics of the
City of Chicago in bulldozing Meigs Field under police guard in the dead of Sunday
night.
As indicated in our last e-mail the Friends of Meigs and our allies are working
hard and rapidly on formulating legal and other strategies in response.
In the meantime, we are asking everyone (EVERYONE!, including you!!!) to write
letters of opposition to the demolition and in support of reopening Meigs ASAP.
If you have not done so already, please compose a letter and send it to:
Both of your U.S. Senators (see below)
Your U.S. Representative (see below)
The Chicago Tribune, ctc-TribLetter@Tribune.com
The Chicago Sun-Times, Letters@SunTimes.com
Any other Chicago/Illinois papers/media outlets

Dear Listers,
I just wanted to send out a quick note to let everyone know that the 1.5Mb
T1 connection upgrade went smoothly today. They brought up the new line
and router yesterday on a test subnet and today the ISP switched over
connectivity about 12 noon with little to no incident. I just finished
some performance testing, and it appears that actual throughput and
interactive response is noticeably improved as advertised!
