I would like to start flying again and want to buy my own plane but I havent decided which one would best suit my needs. My first considerations are: The price, I need to stay around $20,000 more or less A good safety record Economical to own and operate, about 5gph or so Suitable for aerial photography Suitable for an occasional cross county trip If my budget were not so limited I would also add: Baggage capacity about 150lbs A setup for rough field use A reasonable cruise speed A Glastar would be great but I only have a Cessna 150 budget. However I have limited knowledge of what might be available and would appreciate any input from this group. Thanks, Rick --------------------------------- ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 11:48:32 AM PST US From: Marvin Dupree <97corvette@cox.net> Subject: Re: Aviation-List: advice needed --> Aviation-List message posted by: Marvin Dupree <97corvette@cox.net> if you are looking for a 2 place plane, i recommend you look at the mustang II. it's an all metal, homebuilt that carries 2 and baggage. i have seen a couple for sale around $25,000 in trade-a- plane. they had a lycoming 0-320 that you can get fuel burn down to about 6.5 or 7 gph while getting over 150 mph cruise. they have an excellent safety record. good luck in your quest, hope you find the perfect airplane. marv On Aug 10, 2005, at 1:14 PM, Rick Tomlinson wrote: > --> Aviation-List message posted by: Rick Tomlinson > > > > Hello, looking for advice on used aircraft selection.
