Subject: | Garmin 496 - XM Antenna connector |
Hi Charles,
I am not using the AirGiamo mount - it wastes far too much height and its
quality doesn't meet my standard. I have designed and built my own mounting
and the interference of this USB connector is with the Garmin SL40 that
resides right below the 496. My question and predicament remain. Does
anyone know if all 5 wires in the Garmin GXM30A antenna are used ??? So far
even Garmin has been no help.

Pending the level of your own adventuresome spirit, you can disassemble
the puck antenna and trace down if all the wires are used if my memory
serves me right. I was trying to figure out how to take the magnet out
of one of the older style puck reciever/antennas.
