In 1910 Baron Carl Ce derstr=F6m became the first Swede ever to hold an aviator's license; The ve ry first Swedish-built aircraft took to the skies, and Sweden's first air f air captured the public imagination. Stockholm Festival of Flight 21 - 22 August 2010 100 years ago Baron Carl Cederstr=F6m flew his Bl=E9riot XI to victory and public acclaim at Stockholm's first air fair. To celebrate the centenary of Swedish aviation Tekniska museet is staging an unprecedented historical re -enactment of Cederstr=F6m's legendary performance at the Stockholm Festiva l of Flight in August. Tekniska museet's Bl=E9riot XI, built under license by the Thulin Aircraft Works in 1918, has been painstakingly restored by the maestro of historical flight, Mikael Carlson, and runs on it's original Gnome rotary engine. Mikael climbs into his leathers 21 - 22 August to fly the aircraft above th e City Park where Baron Cederstr=F6m marked his trail with castor oil exact ly 100 years ago! The Bl=E9riot will start, land and fly within the festival area in central Stockholm! The two-day Festival of Flight is arranged by Tekniska museet together with The Royal Swedish Aero Club and the Swedish Armed Forces.
