Alex,
The vacuum pump is the weak link. Since you go for electric, why not
dispense with vacuum, and direct run an electric gyro ?

Understand.
However, what are the cost and weight of a vacuum pump plus electric
vacuum pump ?
About $350 + 1500.
Vacuum pumps, electric and mechanical, have a really poor service life
record. So one must add the cost of pump refurbishing.

Have you ruled out a venturi?
