Just use one camera (with mount) plus cable and DVR. Add Splitter and extra cameras/cables if required. Those drives are designed to work on the ground and you may have problems with them at altitude. There is no known problems with either tape, DVD or memory sticks. Same thing goes for I-Pods with the HDD.
