Hi Marty, it seems some kind of resonance. Did you experience the same with
open canopy ?

Try reducing the mic level. You can find how to here
http://www.rv7-a.com/manuals/SL40Comm_InstallationManual.pdf . Take a look
at page 13.

The problem occurs with engine off and canopy open. Haven't tried with engine
running yet?
