Subject: Garmin 250XL

I've just experienced the third screen failure (illuminates but no characters or
digits) of this GPS/com in 10 years and 830 hours flight time. The last repair
was $653 which had to be shipped through an avionics shop as Garmin no longer
deals direct with OBAM users. I am disinclined to invest any more dollars
in what is an unreliable design. Any other users have a similar experience?
