Subject: | Cerminil Cylinders vs Millennium |
--> Beech-List message posted by: "Gary Strong" <gjstrong@comcast.net>
I am needing to rebuild my engine and am trying to decide whether to use
rebuilt CermaNil cylinders or Superior Millennium cylinders. Does
anyone have any experience with the Cerminil rebuilt cylinders? Did
they make it to TBO?
On another note, any ideas on engine rebuild would be greatly
appreciated. The costs are as follows:
Choice 1:
($18,750) (Nick Carter Engines) They use cylinders rebuilt by an ECI
certified shop using the Cerminil process. The rebuild shop (Nick
Carter Engines) said these are excellent cylinders and he uses them in
his own personal plane. Warranty 2yrs or 500 hrs.
Choice 2:
($20,500) Nick Carter Engines will install Millinium or ECI Titan
Cylinders.
Choice 3:
($23,600) Powermaster Engine (Bill Cunningham) Engine completely
identical to the Superior Millennium certified engine except doesn't
come with Superior warranty (Bill warranty's it himself for 2 yrs or 500
hrs).
Choice 3:
($25,145) Powermaster Engines (Bill Cunningham) Superior Millennium
Certified engine with all Superior parts. 5yrs warranty.
On top of these prices I need to purchase a case and crankshaft due to
the damage. If anyone has either a case or crank for sale, please let
me know.
thanks and any advice is appreciated!
