Hi out there,
I am restoring my A35, serial D-1808.
I would love to get info on the long 3rd window kit,
has anybody installed one of these or have one for
sale ? even drawings or pictures would be a huge help.
I will be painting in the next month or so if I can't
do this mod but would obviously like to do it before
the plane is painted.
Also wondering if anybody has got a tail cuff kit out
there...
Thanks, Robert Starnes
Good Evening Robert,
I would strongly recommend against putting the long window kit in an A35
Bonanza. It adds a lot of weight and entails a change in load distribution on
the aft fuselage. Weight is always bad and the early airplanes are very
lightly made. I do not believe it is a good ideas to change the load distributions
in that portion of the aircraft. If you want a bit more rearward visibility,
add the small aft windows. In actual increase in visibility capability, the
small windows add almost as much USABLE visibility as do the P or S style
windows.
The best bet is to just leave the airplane as it was designed!

Good Evening Again Robert,
Why do you want the tail cuff kit? It is not used on the A35.

My airline pilot dad insists on one before he will
ride with me. also think it's cheap insurance, but
that's why I'm trying to get opinions from folks.

-I have the small teardrop windows and am probably
just going to stick with them and get this airplane
done, I want a flyer not a hanger queen! That said
since I am doing a ground up restoration and I plan on
keeping this airplane my whole life (And I'm 31 so
hopefully that will be quite a while)I thought it
would be neat to have all the available mods done on
it.
BTW anybody got a set of tip tanks for sale cheep?
plane is plumbed for them but I don't have the tank
assemblies.
