Greetings I need the starter switch for a 1955 Twin Bonanza It is item 122 in figure 78 in the IPC Even though the part number shown is 9095 I ordered that and got a completely different switch. In fact; there is no part number on the switch itself; only "Made in USA" which although it explains why it lasted 52 years does not help get a new one. Since this part number is somewhat generic and may have been assigned to several different parts or switches I am attaching a photo of what I need. If you have time please take a look and let me know if you have this perhaps under a different part number?? Thanks David Walen davewsr@earthlink.net 910 232-2712

When the starter switch of my H35 failed years ago, a mechanic replaced it with one of a similar form factor but was clearly not an identical replacement. I don't know where he got it, but it wasn't from Beech. It may have been from the aviation section of Radio Shack or Newark. So far so good. -- Mike Truffer ----- Original Message ----- From: davewsr@earthlink.net To: davewsr@earthlink.net Sent: Wednesday, February 14, 2007 11:21 AM Subject: Beech-List: starter switch update Greetings I need the starter switch for a 1955 Twin Bonanza It is item 122 in figure 78 in the IPC Even though the part number shown is 9095 I ordered that and got a completely different switch. I have a 1947 Bonanza SS# D-495 with what appears to be the same push button switch for the starter. I have both an old and a new parts book. I will look tonight and see what numbers I come up with. The Bonanza's used a lot of automotive parts through the late "50s and it may be the same as a starter button for a 6 volt car as they were heavier duty than the ones needed for 12 volt. Go to www.vintagebonanza.com and there is pages for maintenance and refurbishment with sources and suppliers for these types of items. Grummans use a switch like that. You might check with Garner at Fletchair the main Grumman parts supplier. www.fletchair.com Mike Blakeney Former Grumman Owner Now E33 *Mike Blakeney* Phone: 318-348-3452 Fax: 318-388-1573 mike@mikeblakeney.com <mailto:mike@mikeblakeney.com> Hrs 9-5 M-Thurs 9-12N Fri (CST) http://www.mikeblakeney.com/**

A better push switch can be obtained from any tractor dealer like John Deere. They are subjected to worse vibration than an aeroplane. The cover of a push pull cable can be revived by shrinking on electrical heat shrink tubing. The friction and stiction can be eliminated by removing the ball end joint, clamping on a hose, then pressurizing the core with a pressure pot and Mil 5606 oil.
