    Subject: E-185 scavenge pump housing
Hello Listers: On a E-185 series engine, the scavenge pump housing bolts onto the lower front face of the accessory case with 6 bolts. In the parts book, no gasket is shown. In the engine overhaul manual, the instructions tell how to install it with no mention of gasket or other joint sealant. Could someone in the know give me a short talk on how this housing is installed where oil doesn't leak. I have the intake spider and oil return tubes removed for regasketing to cure some oil leaks, and am looking at the scavenge pump housing and wondering if I should pull it and reseal it somehow while it's accessable, but need more ifo. If it has no gasket, and uses no other sealant, what kind of metal to metal fit does it have where oil doesn't leak. Thanks, Randy, Las Vegas 1948 Model 35
