Hey guys,
An A&P Friend has been approached by a gentleman who has a 120 or 140 (I don't
remember which) that was wrecked 30+ years ago and he is just now getting to restoring
it. The Man wants to begin work and has a parts airframe and some parts
from the other model (140 or 120) and wants to know if he can simply use the
parts without having to get field approval.
I think that they are interchangeable but I don't really know.
What Gives? One particular item is the landing gear.
It seems to me that there are alot of 120/140s that are being restored after having
been stored for many years after fairly minor damage. A good friend is in
the very finishing stages of restoring a 140 after 50 years! It was flipped
and not damaged very bad. My friend says that he did something every year to the
plane, sometimes it was just to move it from one side of hanger to the other.
It is a sure prize winner and I really salivate when I go to his hanger.
Blue Skies,
Steve Dortch
Former 150 owner (and I would like to get a 150/140/120 sometime in the future.)
