These were obtained surplus from the USAF. They had the Continental O360 and CS prop. They also had lifting rings, and hard points under the wings for ordinance. The USAF academy in Colorado had dozens of T41s that they used as primary flight trainers up until about 10 years ago. The Service Manual for the K model 172 that I have lists the Reims Rocket parts with footnotes. As I remember, the prop/engine/cowling is where the bulk of the differences are. I flew both of the T41s a few times. The higher power and CS prop made the airplane better for our mountains than a standard 172, but was still nothing to jump up and down about. I have thousands of hours in various normally aspirated and turbocharged 182s, so the 172/T41 seemed somewhat anemic... I know the fellow who bought one of the T41s from the CAP.
