Do you have to "unscrew" or "pop out" the fasteners holding the instrument plastic shield? I've asked this question of the Cessna rep but he's not sure on a 1959 model. To change yoke bearings, you only need to remove the top panel overlay...not the plastic panel at the bottom center.
