A fellow that I've been conversing with for a while just purchased a 520 Commander - looks like a very nice one. Although he has quite a few multi hours, he's never flown a Commander before. He's looking for someone to help him get the airplane home. If anyone is interested, please contact him directly: chris .......snip.............. The aircraft is in Ohio about 10 miles from Columbus. I am based in Georgia (HQU) near Augusta. Should be about a 2-1/2 to 3 hour trip in the 520. What we are doing is modifying our part 135 for our 560A from "no MEL" meaning as you said- every stinkin thing must be working, to a more manageable subset that won't ground us. Canada also requires an MEL for operations in their airspace (part 135). The FAA just told us that unless ther is a MMEL (master MEL) for the 5xx series that it would be pretty much impossible to get one approved. Does that seem to be the case? Thanks again for your input. He operates a fleet of 35 500 series Commanders on 135 freight, or Duane Hick 519-633-1884, 519-773-8366. Duane operats several 500 series Commanders in Ontario Canada. I think both of these guys have operated older Commanders at some time?? Good Luck and tell them we talked. jb
