The indicator for elevator trim position on my 520 does not work. Rudder trim
seems fine.
Does anyone have any idea where I should begin in my search to get it working?
Is this a common problem?
Any info would be helpful.
I have asked my local A&P to check it out.
However, if I could give him some direction I am sure he would appreciate it.

The trim indicator system on the Commander is driven by a position
sensor mounted in the tail. Most likely that sensor has failed, but
check the obvious (and cheap) things first such as power and wiring
between the sensor and indicator.

Don't bother. None of them work and if you fix em they quit again real soon.
I just put a couple of white marks on the trim wheels for the positions
that are important to me.
In any event my trim indicators are where I cannot see them so even if they
work they are useless.

in my experience it is always the sender. (the wire unit inside).
beech used to sell just the wire unit so you could rebuild it to specs
yourself. try beech and start with the fuel sender. al hoffman
thanks to everyone who helped with insurance. i almost have that problem
solved. i have been down for the lycoming crank ad, but am installing a
new 3 axis stec, a new panel and correcting all the corrosion. i may
have to move into it before this is over.

HI KIDS..
I just got the latest Flying. It has a great cover story on
the renaissance Commander. Man does it give you the "want too." It is a
great read and anytime a Commander is a cover airplane, it is good for all of
us.
Also, there is a great story by J. Mac Mclaen about twin vs Single
safty/ibsurance etc. It is a must read. Enjoy.. jb

James, the transducer is accessible by removing a small panel in the middle
of the vertical stabilizer, on the LH side, close to the rudder leading edge.
The rheostat is inside a small aluminum box. Give everything a throughout
cleaning with an appropriate spray and a soft brush. It worked for me.
Make sure your mechanic is not the heavy hand type, it's a delicate
mechanism.

I bought N5462Z a straight 560 serial number 211 which has already been picked
through and had the wings drilled off, but I was still able to find a bunch of
goodies in her. I am keeping some of the stuff for a project that I am working
on, but most of it is going to go up on ebay along with a few others things
from my parts room(aka garage). Feel free to bid high :) If you have any questions
ask by email and I will get back to you as soon as I can, but I will be
traveling throughout the week so it may not be right away.
Also does anybody want 560 landing gear, wheel wells or cowlings? I am interested
in selling these pieces. Or even the whole wing, the only catch is you must
pick it up near Dallas if you want the whole thing.
