    Subject: Little Crunk update
--> Commander-List message posted by: "N414C" <N414C@direcway.com> As some of you know Don Little Crunk has been staying with us and in return for bread, water and a mattress in our garage he is doing some work around the farm. Done (oil slick) aka little crunk is a commercial multi instrument airline wannabe pilot. Some of you will recall when he became famous by leaving the oil cap off 414C on the way to Portland 2 years ago causing the plane to puke 10 quarts of oil and a non scheduled landing with 7 pax aboard. He has now topped even that impressive feat. I had a lightening strike on the house last year and it split a Fascia board along the 2nd story roof line. During the time it was open a billion honeybees moved in making repair impossible. All the insect experts in the world couldn't get rid of them. So I discussed this in detail with done and we decided when it got really cold (about 4 days out of the year in Mississippi) he would pull the board and the bees down and fix it. Forecast was for really really (<10 deg F) cold Starting today (Thurs) thru Saturday. At 10deg F Bees cannot move. So Monday we planned the repair for the cold days and I left town for a day. Upon return I find a bee stung little Crunk who decided to fix the boards Monday (71 deg F) because it would be more comfortable than working in cold weather. As I type this he is outside freezing his ass off pulling down honeycomb and not being stung. Will young men ever learn that everyone over 50 is not stupid? So we can now call him bee sting as well as oil slick. Milt

Six months into my 560F which was virtually untouched for 40 years(almost every hose has 1962 on the tag) it has gone from breaking every flight to only every third flight. Progress! Every time it gets cold another o-ring lets go. Heater works in level flight, fuel cells, pumps, struts, radios, autopilot, water leaks. But everytime I hear the drone of the those geared 540's I know I'm hooked. > Phil > > Phil Stubbs > br549phil@mindspring.com > Why Wait?
