HI KIDS..
I just wanted to let you know that the newsletters are almost
done. They will be in Monday's mail. Great story on George Yundt and his
685, "Sir" Barry Collman has a cool piece on more military Commanders, John
Bosch wrote an article on Turbine Pressurization, and there is a piece from
Bill Williams, of Airmatrix on the new panel in their 560A. I also did a
shot piece on a meeting I attended on behalf of the TCFG a couple of weeks
ago. I was in good company. Pierre from TCAC, Ken Moltzien from Aero Air,
Hugh and Suzann Evens from Merylin products and Dick Maccoon, Mr. RPM were
all in attendance. I rode up with a close friend and the president of the
Navion association. The FAA expected about 35 to show, nearly 100, from
several states, were there!! The FAA was proposing to close the Special
Certification Branch in the NW region and shift the engineers to, BOEING.
These guys (and gals) were committed to work on only GA projects, they helped
me get the Propeller STCs. Their dissolution would have been a disaster for
all GA but paretically Commanderland. There are several major contributors
to out airplanes in this region, including the factory. I just received a
letter from the feds stating that at least they are considering other
options. Not exactly what we were hoping for, but certainly better that what
they originally had planed for us. This is a really big deal and I will keep
you posted.
If you are a list subscriber and not a TCFG member, today would be a
great day to join and get the latest issue. Also, I have recently sent
several membership applications to those who had requested them, only one is
back so far, so fill um out and mail um in!!
Had a short ride in triple two early this week. Did a little "Tree
top flyn" What a great day!! Today, rain, rain, rain. I will be heading out
to the airport for my "drain the sumps every rainy day" routine. These days
sure make you wonder why you ever let the great flying weather go unused.
Hope all is well in your "Commanderland" jb
