I'm in the early stages of looking for a Commander, and, ideally, 1-2 partners in the Atlanta area. I'm likely a 75-hr a year guy--that's just not enough to keep an airplane happy. Frankly, I'd rather find the partner(s) first, but if I find the right aircraft, I may do it alone. I've been in a good partnership before, and good partnerships can be great. The aircraft stays in the air, fixed costs come down, upgrades are more affordable, etc. I'm in no hurry---willing to take the time to find the right aircraft and/or partners. From a partnership standpoint, I'd be looking for someone who broadly meets the following characteristics: --Relatively high time, Instrument rated, believes in professional training --Likes and knows how to baby an aircraft --Believes in preventive maintenance and willing to pay for it (or has an A& P!) --Uses an aircraft for travel, tends to plan in advance What model? Open to discussion. Ideally de-iced, relatively modern panel, and a reasonably new interior (if old would refurbish). Geared engines OK if we all agree to really learn how to use them. I have many questions still unanswered on the model front, so expect many questions! You are welcome to come up for lunch and fly the plane. Sounds like you need to find a Commander or Aztec (Aztruck) I've owned both. www.flysafeinsurance.com Regards, Gary Tillman ________________________________ Message 3 _____________________________________ Time: 06:37:33 PM PST US From: Alexandc10@aol.com Subject: Re: Commander-List: Atlanta Area Commander Partnership --> Commander-List message posted by: Alexandc10@aol.com Gary, Thanks for the offer--I'd love to learn more about the Coleman 500. I've been unable to find even rough performance stats on it. Are you looking for a partner? Well, It will be a fun Commander weekend. It all begins tomorrow at 8am when I will board a "crowd killer" and head non stop to Phoenix, AZ. I will be meet by Oscar, a broker from FL. We will inspect and I will check out in a 560F (sounds like a nice airplane) The next morning (Saturday) I will meet up with TCFG member Jimmy Rodregiez from San Juan PR. we will go to take a look at his new 500B, he is buying it from TCFG member John Mcdonald (2800TT and ALL the toys including air) At noon Morris Kernick will arrive for a pre-buy inspection. I hope to hang around, you ALWAYS learn something new watching over Morris' shoulder. We will all have dinner that night together, should be a blast!!! Me thinks "Commanderiese" will be spoken long into the night. The next morning, Sunday, Oscar and I will saddle up in the 560F and point the nose south, way south to Panama. Hope to make it in 2 days, it will depend on the weather and such. I plan to see the Panama cannel for the first time and hope to see some iguanas?? Then, back to rainsville on a swear tub. I think it will be a ton of fun and I should have 20 - 25 hours of 560F time when it is all over!! Burning somebody eles's gas!! AND, I'll get paid to do it!! I love this country!! Hope your weekend is a good one as well. jb ________________________________ Message 5 _____________________________________ Time: 08:40:42 PM PST US From: YOURTCFG@aol.com Subject: Re: Commander-List: COMMANDER FUN!! --> Commander-List message posted by: YOURTCFG@aol.com BARRY.......The 560F heading south is N19VZ for your records. jb ________________________________ Message 6 _____________________________________ Time: 09:07:00 PM PST US From: YOURTCFG@aol.com Subject: Commander-List: NEW MEMBER --> Commander-List message posted by: YOURTCFG@aol.com HI KIDS..
