HI KIDS.
I just wanted to thank al those who took a few minutes to
call, email or in some cases write to thanks me for the flyin. It is a group
effort and just would not have been possible without all of Commander Aero's
work. But thank you for the kind words.
I have never had so many people excited about next years event in KC.
I have received a letter from John Towner already beginning the plans. It
will be great. But as Lou Tran said today. "How will top this!!" We can only
try. Thanks again to all.
My flight plan looked like this. 1W1 to S67, Nampa Idaho to pick up
my Son, Chad. Richard Thompson was with me and we had a really miserable trip
up the gorge. The weather really didn't get much better along the way and we
ended up at 12K.
We got into S67 and the weather got much better. Had lunch and we off
to a small airport in Nebraska that "Air Nav" said had the cheapest gas.
They lied!! The place didn't offer fuel to the public!! The good news is we had
enough gas to get to Hastings. It as dark and there were thunderstorms
everywhere but they were only about 50 miles deep. We were in great VFR, but had
lighting all around. Cloud to cloud, cloud to ground. Pretty spectacular.
We landed at Hastings tired and ready for a hot shower and good bed.
It was not to be. It seem that this time of year they have a little thing
called the "four corners harvest festival" and there was not a room for bout 100
miles!! So, we paid the $20 (actually Richard paid) night fee, filled the
tanks and were off. Chad found a Pizza Hut close enough to walk to so we were
tanked up as well.
We landed in MGY at about 4am. After a short cab ride to the motel,
we finally got some shut eye. It was a great trip and triple 2 ran great. jb

Colemills, but I'd like to collect info on all 500As] so that we can
discuss some issues offline. If you own one and want to be included,
please forward contact and A/C info to me.
Please include all the basics:
Your name
Email [must have]
Address [optional]
One or more phones with description [day/eve/work/home/cell] [optional]
N number
Year, Serial #
Colemill?
If you include other vitals like TTAF, TSMOH, etc. I will catalog that
as well. Once all those who wish to be listed have sent info to me I
will distribute the list to all in the list, unless you specifically say
not to.

I have a stock standard 500A, #1274, in full, 500-A-1275-97-271, built 1962.
New Zealand registration ZK-DCK, it lives in Australia.
