Exactly! The major engineering hurdle is the calculations required to design an appropriate torsion shaft which gives an accurate scoop-pounds per degree of twist measurement. I think that if were to place a floating gear between the reference shaft and torsion shaft (assuming they rotate in opposite directions) that I could drive a meter head with it's movement. Might have to make the torsion shaft out of rubber bar to get the needed sensitivity though. chris do not archive

Much like justifying a -10 conversion on a Commander, one needs to look at the speed issue. If I could work out an air cycle cooling system that would allow me to make aprox 10 containers/minute, the numbers might work out :-) Maybe I should drive to the fly-in and bring my ice cream maker! chris do not archive

--> Commander-List message posted by: Chris Schuermann <cschuerm@cox.net> Anyone have any good suggestions about refinishing a chrome spinner that is suffering from pitting and peeling? Both of my spinners are a bit on the "crusty" side and I'd sure like to spiff them back up....just not enough to pay Hartzel$$$$$ for new ones. I'm afraid to bead blast them as it might harden the aluminum and cause future cracking. All of the local chrome shops mainly do motorcycle parts and won't touch it. thanks, Chris
