What is the life expectancy of the wet vacuum pumps, such as the ones on my 680F(p)?

It's kinda like how many licks does it take to the center of a tootsie
pop.... the world may never know....
The pumps on my 520 were orig 1953 with about 4000 hours on them. I've
never seen an overhaul recomendation, but I'd think it would be prudent
to overhaul them (and the rest of the accessories) when the engines are
overhauled.

The wet vac pumps will outlive the engines easily. Depending on what make you
have, the common ones being Pesco and Aro. Aro parts are expensive and
reasonably rare, Pesco on the other hand are a lot cheaper to do. I have numerous
spare ones that I have collected.

Folks,
That's the great beauty of wet vac. pumps, --- on condition.
If they are working fine, leave sleeping dogs lay, and unlike dry pumps,
sudden failures seem to be rare, somewhat in contrast to the vanes in dry
pumps.
