Hey Gentlemen,
I am desparately trying to locate a replacement lower sizzer arm for the nose struct
on my 560. The FBO here over-rotated the strut and it is no cracked. If
anyone knows someone who might be parting out a 560, please let me know. Also,
who knows what other commander models use the same part on there strut?

What was the kit# installed; 199-???
I'm trying to submit a 337 to put clevelands on my straight 560. I beleive the
kit 199-88 is the correct one. Can you confirm?

This would be great. I will get there at about 10:00 AM, and Morris is
going to trim my Simmonds Fuel Injection pumps. One of them has about 400
hours on it and the other only has about three hours on it. Morris does
such a good job of adjusting them that it is well worth the flight.

Many years ago my father was a Commander Dealer, and I grew up flying in just
about all of them. He owned the first 681 Hawk, S/N 6001, and it was a
demonstrator, which as you can imagine, came with a lot of brochures, photos and
such. So I started the Twin Commander collection with the Hawk stuff I found in
some boxes about 10 years ago. Then about 6 or 7 years ago, I began
wondering what had happened to all the 1121 Jet Commanders and this is where the
collection really sparked my interest. Over the years I've collected just about
all
of the ads I could put my hands on. I'm sure there are still several hundred
that I don't have, but I'll get them one at a time slowly but surely.
As luck would have it, one of my fathers pilots and dear friends was a Aero
Commander test pilot, so I was able to get a lot of knowledge from him.
But it really doesn't mean much to me if I can't share it with some people
who really enjoy the collection. But thanks to Nico, everyone has the ability
to look at the history of these great airplanes.

Hi All,
I'd just like to publicly say a big "Thank You" to Bert for gathering all this
stuff in for safe-keeping.
Over the last couple of years, Bert has been good enough to keep me copied-in
with everything he's collected and I think it's really good of him to share it
all with us.
Capt JimBob has also been collecting similar 'goodies', so we're assured of a
growing collection!
A friend of mine, Chris Haag, who accompanied me on my last research trip to
Twin Commander, digitally photographed a number of Brochures. If there's
anything new, I'm sure he won't mind sharing it all.
So, to Bert & Jim, "Thanks Guys!" Oh! and thanks too go to Nico for hosting the
means of us accessing it all.
One question Bert, what was the name of the Aero Commander test pilot you and
your father knew?

| about all of them. He owned the first 681 Hawk, S/N 6001, and it was a

At one time you had some tail stands for sale. Do you still have them, and are
they the type that were fairly easy to add weight to (for pulling the nose wheel
off the ground). It seems that someone felt that they needed mine (a framed
55 gallon barrell with casters which could be filled with water for weight)
worse than I did.
Also, what ever happened to the 680F(p) that you were thinking about putting LS6
engines in? I am flying up to Morris' this Friday. Shall I take my tools and
start stripping it or is it still over by the bay? -- Just kidding!

The 680fp airframe is still at Hayward, over on the nat'l guard (south) side
of the field. I understand from Morris that the empennage sustained some
damage in the move but I don't know the details; he can give you a clearer
picture of the condition when you fly up.
If you're coming Friday, maybe I'll see you out at Morris'. I often fly over
for lunch on Fridays.

I found the flap transmitter (potentiometer) for my 500B at Dodson International (www.dodson.com) for $150 which may seem high but was $309 cheaper than the next place. It fixed the problem. I am looking for a pilot door if anyone knows of one.

demonstrator, which as you can imagine, came with a lot of brochures, photos and

to look at the history of these great airplanes.
