Hi Al,
Sincere thanks for the up-date. The hurricanes certainly seem to have wreaked
havoc.
I will really appreciate knowing exactly which 'N' numbers, or aircraft serial
numbers have been totalled.
N89M is s/n 500-659, with AMX Aviation Services Inc
But what is the full 'N' number for "51B"?
I will also be interested to know more about the Colemill one that came up from
Chile.
Very Best Regards,
Barry

| barry, two commanders were destroyed at lantana airport (lna) both were 500's.
one is 89M and i think the other is 51B. i will get the correct number on the
one with the 51B number, but i am sure of the 89M. the hurricane (wilma)
destroyed almost every airplane that was not hangared on the field. my guess is
50 in all. several more aircraft were damaged when the hangars were destroyed.
no other commander damage except for minor damage on the other two that were
outside. we had three commanders in our hangar and another we flew out to north
carolina. mine n628ah). we have a colemill on the field that came up from
chile and it was slightly damaged, but i do not have the number with me on that
one. let me know if you need more numbers. al hoffman

I do not know about anyone else but it burns my a-- that you have a weeks warning
to move your airplane and you leave it setting in the path of a known hurricane.
In the case of Commanders it is a loss of an endangered species. It also
has to affect every ones insurance cost. Actually I would think an insurance
company might claim you did not take normal precautions to protect and avoid
risk and try to disallow a claim.
There I have vented my spleen!!!
